SIEMENS Process Transmitters

SIEMENS Process Transmitters

The Siemens family of transmitters, with various models and process connections can accommodate virtually any application. In addition to their accuracy of measurement and their ruggedness, Siemens transmitters have always stood for one thing: greater ease of operation.

MODELS

DS III Pressure Transmitter

The new SITRANS™ DS III pressure transmitter continues with the ease of operation tradition.  Local configuration of all operational parameters can be made using magnetic push-buttons on the instrument, simplifying the user interface. This eliminates the need for a programming device, such as a hand-held communicator or laptop computer.

The DS III also incorporates diagnostic capabilities including high- or low-signal limit alarms; peak value registers that store the maximum and minimum values for pressure, sensor temperature, and electronics temperature; and a dual-time programmable “watchdog” that alerts the user when pre-set maintenance and calibration times occur.

The SITRANS DS III transmitter is available for measuring pressure, absolute pressure, differential pressure, flow or level.

XTC Crtical Transmitter

The XTC™ Critical Transmitter is the first pressure transmitter certified for critical processes in SIL2/AK4 and SIL3/AK6 applications.  Assessment and certification was performed by the Germany-based TÜV Product Service, the leading experts in programmable electronic safety instrumented systems.

Equipment is rated for the amount of safety risk reduction required by a particular application.

SITRANS F Ultrasonic Flowmeters

The SITRANS™ F US ultrasonic flow meter features a helix-shaped ultrasonic signal ideal for the measurement of electrically conductive and non-conductive liquids (e.g. solvents or organically based media).  This patented sound guidance system:

  • Significantly increases the reliability of the speed profile sampling in the flow meter’s measuring pipe.

  • Allows the SITRANS F US to provide a reliable measurement regardless of low flow rates, low nominal bores, high viscosity, or turbulence.

The SITRANS F US ultrasonic flow meter is easy to install; there are no obstructions in the flow pipe, and no moving part to break or wear out. Operating costs are reduced because there is no need to artificially increase flow rates with power-hungry pumps to counteract any pressure drops.

Operation of the SITRANS F US flow meter is simplified by using an easy-to-follow menu via four pushbuttons on the glass panel. It is available with a digital output via PROFIBUS-PA profile 3 protocol, or with an analog 4-20 mA output with HART communications. A wide range of diagnostic functions ensures the reliability of the flow measurement. Process temperatures can range from –4F up to 356F. The SITRANS F ultrasonic flow meter is FM approved for use in Class I, Div. 2 areas.

SITRANS FM Electromagnetic Flowmeter

The SITRANS™ FM is suitable for measuring the flow of almost all electrically conducting liquids, as well as sludges, pastes and slurries. A prerequisite is that the medium must have a certain minimum conductivity. The temperature, pressure, viscosity and density have no influence on the result.

Even corrosive media can be measured providing suitable materials are selected for the tube liner and the electrodes. Solids present in the medium do not usually influence the result.

Special features of the Intermag/Transmag transmitters include:

  • Fast signal processing with 16-bit micro controller

  • Automatic recognition of sensor type and calibration data as a result of smartPlug

  • HART® communication

  • Self-monitoring

  • Simple menu operation with two-row display (option)

  • Monitoring of sensor using megnetizing current and wet electrode function

  • Analog output and digital outputs for pulses, device status, limits, flow direction

  • Switch input for resetting counter values and measuring equipment (PZR)

  • Menu option for batch mode

340S SteaMeter Flowmeter

The Model 340S SteaMeter™ is a differential pressure type flowmeter capable of measuring saturated steam flow.

It combines accurate, reliable differential pressure measuremnt with standard steam flow calculations.  The SteaMeter can calculate and transmit mass flow, energy flow, or differential pressure with a standard 4-20 mA output signal.  It can also locally display static pressure, mass flow total, and energy flow total.  These three variables are available to other smart devices via HART®

343 Temperature Transmitter

The 343 Smart Temperature Transmitter incorporates advanced temperature measurement into a small economical package that accepts a wide range of input types and ranges.

  • High accuracy, typically .05% of reading, guarantees process control integrity

  • HART® communication allows quick, easy configuration

  • Input/Output isolation supports the use of grounded or ungrounded sensors

  • DIN rail and field-mountable versions allow maximum design flexibility

SITRANS T3K Temperature Transmitter

The STRANS T3K PA Transmitter with PROFIBUS PA connection can be used in all applications.  Its compact size enable it to be installed in the sensor head type B (DIN 43 729) with raised cover or larger. The following sensors/signal sources can be connected via its universal input modules.

  • RTDs

  • Thermocouples

  • Resistance-based sensors/potentiometers

  • DC voltage sources

The SITRANS TK-H and SITRANS TF Transmitters'  two-wire system, converts the signals from RTD's, resistance based sensors, thermocouples or voltage sensors into a load-independent direct current corresponding to the sensor characteristic.
