Compressed Air/Gas - Natural Gas / High Pressure / ASME
High pressure compressed gas systems offer
unique challenges to the removal of liquid and solid contaminates. The
excessive pressure, and in many cases, high temperatures make
coalescing difficult. Our housings overcome this challenge by having a
small annular volume and bottom-based reservoir to reduce
re-entrainment of liquids. Our stainless steel filter housings are
rated up to 5000 psig, have captured viton o-rings, and have hex bowls
for ease of service.
Our borosilicate microfiber elements
are offered in many varieties to specifically solve individual
applications. The "CS" grade is rated for 900F service at 0. 1 -micron
efficiency, where as the "RC" grade offers the same efficiency, but
with the reinforcement for systems with extreme cold start-ups or
pressure swings. |

Sample Process - Liquid
- Liquid Sample
- Analyzer Filters
Headline 110 & 120 Series Stainless
Steel Filters are specified for the most demanding applications, where
they function reliably under extremes of pressure, temperature and
chemical environment. Constructed from 316L stainless steel, with a
choice of either Viton or PTFE seal, these housings have excellent
corrosion resistance and comply with NACE MR-01-75. |
|
 |
Sample Process - Fast Loop
Headline fast loop filters are constructed
entirely from 316L stainless steel. This straight through design is
ideal for heavily contaminated systems, since the filter element is
continuously flushed by the high flow rate stream. Only the low flow
(analyzer) stream is filtered, thus maximizing filter element life.
The fast loop filters use axial
velocity to flush heavy contaminates down stream, while passing the
sample through the element wall with low flow and radial velocity. The
annular cavity is filled, and the sample passes into the sample line.
The annular cavity has very low volume to minimize lag time and keep
the samples clean. For best results, a minimum of a 4 to 1 flow rate
should be maintained for continuous flushing. |

Sample Process - Heated Filters
Heatable housings are purpose-designed for
hot gas analysis such as diesel exhaust and continous emission
monitoring systems. The housings can be heated to 650 degrees F by any
suitable external heater or placement within an oven. They may be
utilized under vacuum to draw the sample or pressurized to 30 psig for
blow down.
The bayonet-type closure allows the element to be changed within
seconds even at operating temperatures. An integral support/retainer
make service a snap.
There are three basic models: H120, H130 and H140.

Sample Process - PTFE/Exotics
Our PTFE housings are designed especially
for use in high chemical resistance or very low absorption
applications. They accept our fluorocarbon bonded disposable filter
elements for coalescing or particulate filtration, and we offer an all
PTFE sintered element where Teflon is the only acceptable surface. The
PTFE element is available in 3, 10, and 25-micron ratings at 98%
efficiency for particulate removal.
We will soon be introducing a PTFE membrane housing for complete
sample filtration applications.
We also have the ability to produce our many filter housings in exotic
materials such as monel, hastelloy, titanium. |
|
 |
Sample Process - Membrane
The SM105 membrane housings use a porous
PTFE membrane, which is supported by a sintered porous stainless steel
disc on the outlet side. The wet sample gas as enters though the inlet
port and because the membrane will only allow molecules of gas or
vapor to pass through to the outlet all liquid is stopped. Any liquid
in the sample will flow to the drain port. This port can also be used
as a bypass function for the main flow. Two grades of membrane are
available, which are detailed in the MT Series Membrane data sheet.
The housing design allows a quick change of the membrane as all the
line connections are arranged in the body of the housing and the
threaded cap means no tools are required for access.
Standard housings have NPT ports and include Viton gaskets. Other
gaskets types are available as an option.
The housings are free from welds and comply with NACE MR-01-75. |

Sample Process - Plastic Filters
Headline's plastic filter housings are
offered in a variety of materials, sizes and element efficiencies.
They are ideal for corrosive applications or where metal contact must
be avoided. These economically-priced units offer multi-purpose
functionality. They are excellent for OEM, emissions analysis and
chemically-corrosive applications. The 700 series can be used for
coalescing, particulate, and liquid filtration. Any of these units can
be ordered as Bubblers by adding the suffix "B" to the part number.
Bubblers are used on some environmental systems as part of the
calibration process, which is called an interface check. The operator
passes a known concentration of gas through the water-filled container
(bubbler). This humidifies the gas so the analyzer may read it.

Vacuum Pump Filters - Exhaust Filters
At the heart of the Headline Vacuum Pump
Exhaust Filter is the completely disposable CS-type coalescing
element. Made entirely from boroscilicate glass microfiber and
phenolic binder, it is compatible with all compressor lubricants and
will operate at temperatures up to 650 degrees Farenheit.
The CS-type element has a two-layer structure, inner particle
capture-layer and an outer drainage-layer. Liquid droplets remain
mobile once captured and travel through the fine-pored capture layer,
along the intersecting microfibers, growing in size as they progress.
These coalesced droplets are transferred to the large-pored drainage
layer, from where they drain by gravity into the filter bowl. Oil
collected in the filter bowl can then be drained and reused.

Vacuum Pump Filters - Inlet Filters
At the heart of the UFS Vacuum Pump Inlet
Filter is the completely disposable RC-type coalescing element. Made
entirely from borosilicate glass microfiber and phenolic binder, it is
compatible with all compressor lubricants and will operate at
temperatures up to 250 degrees Farenheit.
The RC-type element has a two-layer structure, inner particle
capture-layer and an outer drainage-layer. Liquid droplets remain
mobile once captured and travel through the fine-pored capture-layer,
along the intersecting microfibers, growing in size as they progress.
These coalesced droplets are transferred to the large-pored
drainage-layer, from where they drain by gravity into the filter bowl.
Oil collected in the filter bowl can then be drained and reused. The
"RC" reinforced element is durable to handle particle build-up, too.
This extra strengh provides extra pump protection. |

Liquid Filters - Water/Fuel/Oil/High Pressure/Plastic Housings/Recleanable
Our 800 series liquid "Free Flow" filter
housings are ideal for a variety of liquid purification solutions. The
Free Flow housings are available in stainless steel (SS), cast iron
(C), or brass with a 304 stainless steel bowl (B). Port sizes range
from 1/4" NPT up to 1 1/2" NPT and 2" NPT. The larger port sizes are
unique to UFS. Our competitors only offer these types of filters up to
1" and then "force" you into a multi-element vessel. The larger port
sizes allow greater flexibility in providing the correct filter for
the application. We can also provide these housings with gauges,
flanges or sight glass columns.
Two other great design benefits are:
- One piece bowl construction for
quick and spill free element service.
- Extra bottom reservoir capacity for
sediment deposit collection
Choose from disposable spun
polypropylene or pleated elements, to our cost effective,
re-cleanable, pleated stainless steel elements to cover all your
requirements. Our elements range from 500 micron efficiency down to
sub-micronic. With our housing and element choices these flexible
filters can be used to process water, coolant, paint, and petro-chemical
filtration. |

Dryers - Desiccant/Membrane
Heatless Regenerative Dryers utilize no
external heat source for regeneration. This process allows longer life
of the adsorbent and less wear and tear on the mechanical components
of the dryers. The system utilizes retained heat adsorption generated
from the previous adsorption cycle. The HPS series of dryers
automatically deliver a standard -40 degrees F dewpoint, and -100
degrees F can be easily obtained as an optional feature. These systems
are very economical in moderate air flows because of low operating
costs and the reasonable 14% purge rate. Standard units start at 10
scfm output and go up to 3000 scfm.
Mojave Membrane dryers
are for critical applications that require
vapor free air. The water molecules are diffused through the unit's
hollow fiber membrane core while allowing the dry air to stay within
the fiber. These units are an ecomical alternative for critical
point-of-use purification. No moving parts, no noise, and no
maintenance make the Mojave Membrane Dryers a smart choice. |

Filter Elements - Disposable / Recleanable / Pleated / Micro fiber /
Desiccants / Aftermarket replacements
Our brand of Headline disposable filter
elements are manufactured from precise mixtures of borosilicate glass
microfibers to the very highest standards of quality control. These
elements offer exceptional filtration efficiency at very low pressure
drops and, being +90% void volume, give very long service life. The
elements are bonded to impart high strength and eliminate fiber
shedding. The choice between the different binders that are available
will depend upon the application. Each element type is available in a
wide range of grades of efficiency covering the complete range (from
coarse bulk contamination removal (grade 80) to essentially complete
removal of submicron contaminants).
|
-
Standard Type
elements are suitable for all particulate remove applications in
non-corrosive gases and liquids. The coarsest grade that will
adequately protect the application should be chosen as this will
result in the most economical solution to the contamination problem.
-
S Type filter
elements are completely organic and are used to filter at
temperatures from 300 degrees F to 900 degrees F. The S21-R Type are
used in diesel emission applications.
-
K Type elements
are specified where corrosive gases and liquids are to be filtered
as they have excellent chemical resistance. They are also used where
highly reactive gases are being analyzed, since they exhibit very
low levels of adsorption.
-
L Type elements
have a hydrophilic binder making them ideal for applications where
sterilization is required.
-
C Type elements
are specifically designed for the removal of liquid aerosols from
gases in both corrosive and non-corrosive applications. These
elements also remove particulates with the same efficiency.
-
CS Type elements
are designed for coalescing applications where temperatures are at
up to 900 degrees F.
-
RC Type elements
are designed for high pressure swing applications. These elements
consist of a borosilicate inner layer sandwiched between two rayon/Phenolic
bound outer layers. The outer layers provide excellent strength.

Filter Elements - Stainless Steel
Stainless steel elements are recommended
for the fitration of heavily contaminated gases and liquids, since
they are recleanable by backflushing or ultrasonic washing. The
elements consist of five layers of precision-woven 316L stainless
steel mesh formed into cylinders and sintered together, the filter
layer being supported, protected, and prefiltered by two inner and two
outer laters. Five layers offer surface area and depth area for
removing solids and dropping out liquids. We offer seven grades of
filtration, designated 01, 03, 10, 25, 50, 100, and 200, having a 98%
removal rating in mincrons. Grade 25 (25 micron) is widely used to
protect pumps and valves while grade 03 is recommended for the removal
of pipe scale from steam. These elements are often employed as
prefilters to a disposable final filter.
PTFE sintered elements are offered in three grades of filtration,
designated -03, -10, and -25. Having 98% removal efficiency in
microns. They are used where sample compatibility is a concern. Both
types of elements fit Headline 100, 200, 300 and 700 series housings. |
